AI is the elephant in the room for every business owner. Some people absolutely hate it while others swear by it. When it comes to your personal brand, you really have to find the balance in letting it be a tool for your business without overpowering the trust you’re cultivating in your personal brand.
So how do you navigate it?
In my SCS mastermind we recently laid out some of the pros and cons of using AI in your business. Pros being things like improved productivity, coming up with ideas, and troubleshooting while cons being things like decreased trust, environmental considerations, decreasing neuroplasticity opportunities and the increase of fake/questionable content.
Here was the brief brainstorm list we came up with:

There’s no right or wrong for any of these as it’s different for everyone, but the question begs: how does this impact my personal brand?
Simple put, you can ask yourself: Does using this tool cause my audience to question my authenticity, authority or my otherwise projected values? Is it in integrity with what I say/do the rest of the time?
The answer to those questions will be based on what you are building in your personal brand and you then have to decide what is best for your personal brand and your audience. Many times the answer will be to use AI and other times it will be to possibly not.
Remember that AI literally stands for artificial intelligence. Are you sacrificing your own intelligence development and demonstration for that of a collective resource? Or are you maximizing it to project your brilliance?
What do I think?
I love AI as a tool and my business has benefitted from using it. But, on the flip side, I’ve unfollowed businesses or questioned the authenticity of the owner when they overuse it. Like everything, it’s a balance and for your personal brand the one thing you need to do is consider that balance.
That AI generated headshot you used might have just lost you a potential client if they question who you are. If that doesn’t bug you, then they weren’t your client to begin with, if that does bug you, then you need to consider it. Some people don’t care if you write your content with AI or think it’s smart, some people will be turned off by it. In the end, it’s up to you, but don’t be blind to its impact.
So why does this matter for AI in my personal brand?
We need to start having true accountability in everything we put out to the world. The time for shovelling sh*t on to the internet has ended. The world is tired of it and so you can start being intentional with every tool that you use and every impact you have. With that, you’ll find your impact to be bigger and attract more of your soulmate clients in the process.
