Last night I attended a networking meeting. In this group I hold the “photographer” seat, so naturally when I have a 1 minute slot to speak: I talk about branding photography.
However, this space allows for more conversation. More casual interactions and we aren’t just “selling” to each other. We genuinely are trying to solve problems, build businesses and connections and even friendships.
So when the conversations get deeper, a group that I’m fairly new to discovered my passion for the mindset and big impact change work I do in my personal branding work.
Through a natural conversation. It wasn’t trying to play the selling game, it was just conversation.
And really, if I’m honest, I was super passionate to share about it and I know the fire inside me gets light with these topics.
From that, I was able to gain new client interest for the parts of my business that weren’t photography (which is the majority of my business anyway).
And that’s the way it’s supposed to work.
Social media, your e-newsletter, even a 1 minute spot to share your business at a networking meeting can NEVER convey the full range of your awesomeness. What you can offer the world. What relationships you can build.
Your personal brand helps get you in the door for those conversations, but you, my friend, have to continue them. This is where the magic happens.
